Led by artist Roberto Lugo in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia and a dedicated Community Advisory Council, We Here was a community-engaged art project envisioned to illuminate creativity and resilience in the vibrant Philadelphia neighborhood of Kensington. Inspired by Lugo’s journey as a professional artist who grew up in Kensington, We Here emphasized youth engagement through pattern-making and pottery workshops created to actively involve local school groups and community members in an immersive artistic journey. The project catalogue includes essays by contributors Sarah Archer, Kelli Morgan, and Megan Voeller, as well as a group interview with project participants and Community Advisory Council members.
